A little (really little) Potter. What else?

[Potter, 'Pieces']

You find them everywhere.

You never know when, or where, or what they’ll say. They are not sophisticated, and not practiced. They are random and sometimes make you laugh and sometimes make you blush.

They are not love poems, or love letters, in the common senses of the words. They are simply pieces of his heart, and you sometimes feel as if they serve to patch the gaping whole in your own chest where your heart used to be, before he made off with it.

All in his scrawling, messy hand that you used to think was illegible, but is now almost as familiar as your own.

In the margin of your History of Magic notes that they borrowed after spending the entirety of the lecture playing hangman. You weren’t wearing socks today and all I could see was the freckle on your ankle.

In your Daily Prophet, underneath the Quidditch scores. Your eyelashes sometimes get tangled at the corners.

On spare bits of parchment he leaves in your bag. I am absolutely overwhelmed by you.

On Honeyduke’s receipts after Hogsmeade weekends. I will buy you Sugar Quills forever. Even though Chocolate Frogs are far superior.

Underneath the heading for the chapter you’re studying that day in Arithmancy. I can still feel you.

And your favourite, so far, on the inside of your wrist, after you both fall asleep, sprawled on Common Room floor, cramming for a Potions exam. i love you.

Harry/Hermione - They are not sophisticated, and not practiced.

And a not-so-sekrit message to [info]queenofalosart - It SO is. Hy-fucking-sterical.

GAH, that was lovely. I mean, that last image? Just... i can't think of any other word but "lovely". Or maybe "perfect", i don't know. It all conveys the simplicity and easiness that H/Hr has at its most basic level, for me at least. But then it has this great spectrum, like the notes, how they range from trivial to serious to teasing (Chocolate Frogs, hee).

And Harry's handwriting! Aw. I love that he has messy boy-handwriting. Like i love his messy hair- he's just wonderfully unrefined, isn't he?

So yes. That was gorgeous. Suuuuuch a nice little shippy treat. :D

Aw.

Thank you.

Exactly! That's really what I love about them. They are never awkward or unsure around each other, they're just themselves. They never pretend or hide things or even hold their tongues.

They're, like, the best versions of themselves with each other.

And that is a lovely thing. That's the best thing.

Man. They make me such a girl. It's quite sad.

And you totally know Harry has messy handwriting. Sort-of slanting and quick, like if he doesn't get it down, the thought will be gone, and with ink spots spattered on the parchment.

Um...guh. That really is lovely. I'm sure you've heard this from other people many times but I think I should tell you as well; you are such a good writer. I don't care how short or how long the things you write are, they're just freaking austoundingly good. I think any fandom would be lucky to have you writing for it...and I think I'm lucky to have found you.

I enjoy your writing ten times more now since I discovered your Everwood fics too. How lucky to find you because of your Harry Potter fics and then discover the Everwood ones! Hee.

And hee! Everwood. Berlanti owns me, yo. I got sucked in for the pretty angsty boys (Ephram/Colin is still my OTP *g*), so I didn't even know if I'd want to watch when Colin died. Then they brought Madison on, and I fell in lurve all over again.

Anyway. I'm glad you like my stuff.

Hee.

Thank you.

And, really, it's all about the simple. When something's real and right, there is no need to dress it up or convolute it - it just is. And there's no reason to make a big production out of it.

I guess that's why I tend to take the 'less is more' approach to everything, including writing. There need not be a lot of words, or anything, because what they have is so simple, so intrinsic to who they even are, that nothing else is really needed.

That's also why I think when they realize what they have, that'll be it. Hermione will tease Harry about reports in the paper he's cheating with her; Harry won't be jealous of Hermione's friendship with Ron. They'll know, and that'll be enough. Of course they'll have fights and screaming matches and they'll get pissed off at each other, but when you're really in love with each other, that's it. That's all that matters. You'll work it out. Because you have to. You can't be without the other person.

Erm. Sorry for the tangent. I just feel very strongly about this - growing up with it my whole life and seeing it in my best friend...well, I know what real and true and right looks like. And it's not flowery and a production of candles and roses and moonlight - it just is.

*melts into goo*

Clean up on Aisle 10, clean up on Aisle 10. Parker's been writing goo-worthy Potter ficlets again.

*goo vibrates in an audible sigh*

That was loverly! The last bit, on her wrist. I'm about to melt again. and I love how they are not sophisticated, and not practiced.

I can *so* see Harry just writing random messages in Hermione's things, and noticing the little things. After so long without getting any attention or love, I'm positive he is a guy who, once that blindness that initially comes with being a guy is removed, will notice every little detail about everything she says and does.

*sighs*

I loved it.
I want more.
Now.
Please?

Hee!

I can so see Harry doing this too. He's not going to be one for big declarations or anything - he's going to be all about the simple. If he feels like kissing her, he will. If he notices something, he'll scratch it out on whatever bit of parchment is handy. There won't be a lot of thought in it, and because of that, because he does them almost without thinking about it, they'll be that much more amazing.

He's the kind of guy who doesn't realize stuff. He doesn't know how cute he is. So that makes him even cuter. He doesn't see why he shouldn't tell Cho he's meeting Hermione. So that makes it even more adorable. He doesn't understand why he should say Hermione's ugly when he doesn't think she it. So that makes it even sweeter.

You know he'll just do stuff, because he thinks of it, or the mood strikes him, or just because he loves her so much, and that'll make it that much more special.

*dances for your Potter muse*

I adore this. Something this short should not bring tears to my eyes. Heh, you've done your job, I suppose.

This is how I imagine A Harry truly in love, a Harry that has given himself over to it and has quit trying to fight it. Just beautiful. We all know that it's inside Harry, that he has this abundance of love to give because he's never had an outlet for it before. *cries* I'm gonna quit before I work myself into an emotional frezy.

Very well done.

Dude, I'm dancing right along with you. I'm so fucking excited and releaved I'm writing the pumpkins again. They're my OTP to end all OTP - they're the reason I got the urge to sit down and write. I'd never written anything before my first Potter story. I just love them.

Eeee.

Anyway.

Thanks!

And I can totally see Harry doing this. I'm not going to get into it again (I just ranted a little rant about it to [info]halliemarie above), but, suffice it to say, he'll do this kind of stuff all the time. Just because he feels like it, or something strikes him, or he just loves her so much. There won't be massive planning and execution or anything, it'll just be simple little things that let her know. *g*

I'm such a dork.

Hey there. I've never read HP fanfic before, and indeed was kind of embarrassed about the whole idea (15yrolds? 15yrolds!), but this was lovely.

Also, I'm currently debating with one of my best friends on a nightly basis over H/Hr vs. R/Hr and I'd love to share some of your comments (particularly ones you've made in response to posts here) because they convey a lot about what I love about H/Hr. Would that be ok? Possibly even put some of it up as a friends-only posting on my LJ - but I won't do that if that would just be weird. (I'm trying to contain my 'ship tendencies to this side of insanity)

And yes I understand the irony that I'm embarrassed to read fanfic about the ship, but I devote my nights to argue in support of it...

Anyway, thank you so much for sharing!

And share away. Everything I write here is for public consumption, so use whatever you want. Just mention it was me, and we're square.

Oh. *whimpers&sighs* I don't know why, but the line I can still feel you coupled with the idea of Harry writing declarations of love on Hermione's skin just gave me the most delicious shivery goosebumps ever. Well, okay, I'll confess I know why...damn my overactive, very vivid imagination.:Þ

Anyway, fab writing. You are truly on a great roll with these ficlets, chica. I see Alfonso Cuaron brilliant vision has gotten to you, too. His work has made me love H/Hr in such a way I never thought possible. Even my friend (who ships-what else?-R/Hr) admitted to putting on the 'Rachel hat' as she called it since she noticed all the lovely little pumpkiny moments and parallels between H/Hr and L/J during PoA. Gah, I'm way overdue to see the third film again.

This is just beautiful.

You capture the very essence of the H/Hr ship so well it's scary. There's a wonderful economy of language and you manage to communicate something in few words that most people would have embellished to the point of making it purple. I admire that sort of conciseness in fiction.

re: Cauron
I've said it before (all over my PoA review) and I'll say it again: he gets H/Hr. It is quite fitting that he helped bring back your H/Hr muse and cause you to write something that made me into a big girly pile of goo.
